The Role
The Compensation Analyst will be responsible for the implementation of the company compensation programs and processes. This role involves conducting market research, analyzing compensation data, and providing strategic insights to support salary decisions; works closely with human resources partners and management teams to ensure compensation practices comply with regulatory requirements and support employee attraction and retention; performs salary benchmarking, job evaluations, and maintains compensation data integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement all compensation policies, procedures and guidelines and processes
- Implement all variable compensation programs including commissions, variable bonus plans and equity plans
- Prepare and maintain documentation related to compensation practices, including policies, procedures, compensation structures, communication materials and job offers
- Maintain and update compensation databases, ensuring data accuracy and integrity; generate reports and dashboards to support decision-making and strategic planning
- Execute annual compensation processes (annual salary increases, job profile reviews, market/equity reviews, etc.)
- Administer direct compensation (executive, exempt and nonexempt, cash compensation programs) for all employees including the processing, recording and reporting of compensation-related actions taken on salaried employees.
- Prepares and maintains job descriptions for each position in the organization; ensures descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents.
- Assesses jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range.
- Benchmarks jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.
- Prepares and presents summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information.
- Gathers data from market-based compensation surveys; uses spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends.
- Evaluates and implements job analysis instruments and materials.
- Conducts data and cost analyses to be used in employee negotiations and collective bargaining agreements.
- Keeps apprised of federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations in order to ensure Company compliance.
- Reviews and analyzes changes to state and federal laws pertaining to compensation, and reports necessary or suggested changes to management.
- Assist in the development of ad-hoc reports and board or committee presentations
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- One to three years of experience in Human Resources; compensation, benefits, or HRIS experience preferred
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and a willingness to learn
- Able to find process-driven solutions in ambiguous situations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- Proficiency in presentation development
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to collaborate with employees of all levels
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

The anticipated base salary for this position is $65,000.00 to $80,000.00. The actual base salary offered is determined by a number of variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location of residence and/or place of employment. Base salary is one component of Metropolis's total compensation package, which may also include access to or eligibility for healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, bonus plans and more.
