Community Supports Program Assistant

Then see if you are the right fit to join our team. This is a brand new opportunity within our bustling Community Supports (CS) department. You'll work directly under the CS Director to help support the team to deliver high quality services to the individuals we serve.
Position Summary:Under the guidance of the Community Supports (CS) Director, the Program Assistant will fulfill the role of assistant to the CS Director, offering support to both the CS Director and the CS Frontline Supervising (FLS) team in various tasks relating to the smooth functioning of the department and the agency as a whole.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Administrative Duties
- Communication support for the department
- Coordination of meetings, schedules, agendas, and events to meet department needs
- Provide Clerical Support to the CS staff.
- Other duties as assigned
- Perform duties in a manner that promotes health and safety.
Hours of Work: Part-time, 20-hrs per week. Mon-Fri, 4 hrs per day. Shift could be morning or afternoon depending on availability. Business hours are 8am-5pm.
Minimum Education, Experience and/or Skills:
- A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Two years secretarial, clerical and related experience including some administrative assistant experience is required.
- One years in field DSP or PCA experience.
- Must be experienced and proficient with personal computers and computer software programs including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must accurately type a minimum of 40 wpm and possess efficient 10-key and data entry skills.
- Must possess basic competency in filing, office and telephone etiquette, and office equipment including; copiers, fax machines, postage machines, and others as needed.
Pre-hire Requirements (must be obtained prior to hire date):
- A current TB test,
- Valid Alaska driver's license with two (2) years driving experience, and
- Proof of automobile insurance must be submitted prior to employment.
- Successful candidates must provide 1 clear fingerprint card before hire, to submit for a background check

- Ability to communicate effectively and courteously to agency staff, individuals with disabilities, family members, business associates and the public.
