Hiring Range: $51,147.20 - $67,398.24/Year. It is anticipated the hiring rate offered will be +/- the midpoint range depending on qualifications.
Port Corpus Christi Authority (PCCA) is currently seeking a dynamic professional to join our team! This position is responsible for ensuring proper logistics and active participation in assigned Port business related events, under the direct supervision of the Manager of Community Relations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develops and maintains strong partnerships with local schools to support underrepresented and underserved students across the Coastal Bend region
- Collaborates with educators and community partners to identify and address specific needs, providing targeted resources to enhance the overall educational experience and ensure equitable access to opportunities
- Establishes and cultivates relationships with community organizations, government agencies, nonprofits, and other stakeholders to collaborate on initiatives that leverage resources for maximum community impact
- Coordinates and oversees the execution of community programs, including budgeting, resource allocation, scheduling, and reporting, ensuring alignment with strategic goals
- Engages with internal departments, employees, and volunteers to ensure their active participation in PCCA initiatives, fostering a culture of community involvement
- Serves as a key point of contact for community organizations, leaders, and residents, building and maintaining positive relationships that enhance the organization’s presence and impact within the community
- Promotes PCCA programs through various channels, including public speaking engagements, media relations, social media, and community events
- Monitors and measures the outcomes and impact of community programs, preparing reports and communicating results to internal stakeholders, community partners, and funding organizations
- CPR certified or the ability to become CPR certified within the first year of employment
- Tier 3 status designation
The preferred candidate for this position should be an organized and disciplined individual with excellent time management skills, effective at dealing with all levels of management, multi-tasking, and motivating others. They must possess the following:
EDUCATION & CREDENTIALS
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations or Communications preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) during course of employment
- Valid driver’s license
- Proven experience in community development, program management, or related fields
- Strong understanding of community needs assessment, partnership building, and project management
- Excellentinterpersonal,communication,andrelationship-buildingskills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including community organizations, government agencies, and internal teams
- Stronganalyticalandproblem-solvingskills,withtheabilitytodevelop creative solutions to community challenges
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting
- Familiaritywithrelevantlaws,regulations,andbestpracticesincommunity development and corporate social responsibility
- Passion for community engagement and making a positive impact
- Ability to perform essential job functions, including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, sitting, speaking or hearing, typing and occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to work in a general office environment, with some exposure to the elements when visiting worksites, and ability to wear personnel protective equipment, including hard hat, steel toed footwear, eye and hearing protection when performing work functions
- Ability to operate light-weight highway vehicles and standard office equipment and to work the requisite hours to fulfill position objectives, including evenings and/or weekends, as needed
