JOB DESCRIPTION:
The primary role of the Community Relations Coordinator & Hope Reigns Foundation is to assist with the implementation of Community Programming and Foundation Fundraisers to generate revenue for the Hope Reigns Foundation. This position will help create and execute Community Programming including partnering with local organizations, planning events, and team autograph sessions. This position also supports sales and marketing events year-round as the lead on design, setup, and format. This role will streamline communication between the sales team, hockey operations and the marketing department during the planning of events.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for generating revenue for the Hope Reigns Foundation through the creation and execution of community events, and fundraisers; Takes the lead on the design and execution of all Reign Community Relations and Hope Reigns Foundation events, donation/charitable requests and other activities
- Coordinate the design and implementation of Foundation Fundraisers (Annual Gala and other programs), Reign Day, Silent Auctions, Live Auctions, and run the Foundations table at all Reign Home Games
- Support VP of Business Operations to create and implement the annual foundation budget and present at the annual board meetings
- Work with Marketing Department to engage fans to build awareness of jersey auctions and the Hope Reigns Foundation through social media outlets (Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, etc.) and grassroots marketing efforts
- Liaison with Hockey Operations for Community Events involving players and the team to help build the brand and sport
- Work cross-functionally with the LA Kings Community Relations staff for any signature events, autograph signings, etc. to ensure brand and team cohesion
- Support sales and marketing events year-round as the lead on design, setup, and format; Takes lead on staff events as needed
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
The Community Relations Coordinator must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skill and abilities:
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
- Outstanding organizational and project management skills, with the ability to successfully handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Motivated and creative self-starter with the ability to adapt and prioritize in rapidly changing situations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); and ability to learn required business systems
- Excellent customer service
- Event planning expertise from ideation through recap; ability to professionally interact with all levels of leadership both within the company and with external partners.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and events as business dictates
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
Education:
- High School Diploma or its equivalency (BA/BS Degree Preferred)
Experience:
- 2-4 years Related work experience
- Experience with handling cash and management of case and credit reconciliation
- Experience working in community relations for a sports team or live events experience a plus
Pay Scale: $18.99-$23.00
