Community Programs Director
The Community Programs Director will provide strategic direction and ensure compliance for existing community programs (Older Americans Act/Title III, Transportation, SHINE, Money Management, Social Engagement, Healthy Living, Technology Access Program, and Volunteer Engagement) and lead the development of new programs and initiatives.
This is a full-time, exempt (35 hour/week) position. We offer a hybrid remote schedule (remote 1 day a week). Our office is located in Malden, MA with ample free parking!

Top 5 Key Activities:
- Lead policy and ensure compliance of existing community program areas (federal, state, and MVES)
- Create business plan for each program and align resources to realize goals
- Lead in supervising, mentoring, and training program managers
- Lead and ensure compliance of the needs assessment process including the preparation and updating of the Area Plan on Aging
- Monitor program budgets and spending
Other Activities:
- Provide technical assistance and grant monitoring to Title III grantees
- Serve as the staff liaison to the MVES Advisory Council
- Participate on applicable committees and workgroup inside and outside the agency
Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in Social Work or related field with at least five years of management and supervisory experience in a Human Service setting
or
- A Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field with at least five years of management and supervisory experience in a human service setting.
- Strong analytical, managerial, communication, and leadership skills
- Proven supervisory and project management skills
- The ability to manage multiple high priority objectives/projects
- In-depth understanding of MVES internal programs and local organizations industry including risk management, compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate across all levels, including staff, board members and external partners
- Highly resourceful team player, with the ability to work effectively independently or as a team
- Demonstrates a willingness to take on new tasks with a general attitude that no task is too small, impossible, or cannot be improved
- Expertise in the following platforms: Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe Pro, Zoom and other web-based applications
- Experience working in a 501c3 organization and experience managing volunteer programs preferred
