Job Description:
The Community Pharmacy Director is responsible for broad oversight of multiple business units or practice areas, as well as service line responsibilities with highly-complex workflows , and will lead the implementation of new technology, processes, champion change and engage the team around action planning. The Director will also develop and provide education, training, and performance management of new or enhanced services and software, and lead community outreach efforts to promote population health while leading a team of pharmacy technicians, specialists, and / or pharmacists.

As the Community Pharmacy Director, you will:
+ Utilize strong business acumen to provide oversight for pharmacy services initiatives and coordinates the operational activities of various lines of business.
+ Lead implementations of new technology, processes, champion change and engage the team around action planning, along with developing and providing education, training, and performance management of new or enhanced services and software.
+ Lead community outreach efforts to promote population health, coordinates off site immunization clinics, community events and ongoing maintenance of transitional care clinical services.
+ Lead pharmacy revenue cycle analysis, financial performance data, accurate claim processing and initiating third party appeals, along with liaising with the Payer Contracting and Pharmacy System Director as needed.
+ Support the Pharmacy Manager(s) to ensure pharmacies are operating in compliance with the board of pharmacy and DEA rules and regulations.
+ Assist with diversion monitoring and reports any concerns that would compromise the security of the pharmacy to the System Pharmacy Operations Director.
+ Support the professional development of direct reports to improve operational efficiency within the pharmacy team, along with providing communication to teams through rounding, huddles, staff meetings and other forms of communication to relay updates regarding department updates, organizational activities, financial performance, educational opportunities, interdepartmental activities and QI activities.
+ Participate in the preparation of operational and capital budgets and in fiscal accountability of services, operational and capital planning, annual operating plans, business plans for new services and human resource structure.
+ Prepare and present business plans, reports, and other statistical data.
+ Participate in vendor discussions to evaluate programs and/or components of pharmacy service solutions.
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy - or - Doctorate of Pharmacy. Education must be obtained from an accredited school of pharmacy. Degree will be verified.
+ License to practice pharmacy and dispense controlled substances in the State of Colorado, Montana, or Utah and Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
+ Five years pharmacy management experience in a community pharmacy is required.
+ Excellent communication, planning, prioritization, and execution skills with a strong service orientation, along with the proven ability to lead strategic planning and budgeting processes, as well as ongoing business reviews.
+ Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, along with balancing clinical, regulatory and financial goals and outcomes and collaborating with all levels within an organization.
+ Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail and scheduling applications.
+ Immunization certification endorsed by the American Pharmacist Association (AphA).
+ Current knowledge of state and federal regulations and statutes regarding the practice of pharmacy and the distribution of approved drugs, controlled substances, and investigational agents.
+ Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal relations skills with health-care providers.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Master of Business Administration, Master of Healthcare Administration, or a Master of Science in Health Policy and Pharmacotherapy Outcomes Research.
+ Membership and continued participation in local, state, and national pharmacy organizations.
+ Multi-site leadership and managerial experience.
+ Completion of a specialized ASHP-accredited pharmacy residency program

+ Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
