About the Job
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: The Community Outreach Specialist provides outreach, education and support services to substance-using pregnant and parenting women seeking recovery support.
Specific Activities:
· Must be non-judgmental when engaging/recruiting participants for project services
· Recruit 20 eligible participants per month for project services through organized outreach activities, participating in community activities organized by community agencies and networking.
· Responsible for acting as bridge between the community, the Agency and other community service providers
· Working with community partners and organizational leaders to develop and implement outreach programs that address the community's needs
· Responsible for conducting community outreach for the purpose of recruiting and screening clients for program services.
· Organizing outreach programs, providing direct support services, and collaborating with government agencies.
· Communicate to the project director or project director’s designee all incidents, concerns or complaints.
Other:
All other duties as assigned by the Team Lead or Project Director.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
· High school diploma and at least 3 to 5 years professional experience working in the community or social services.
· Experience working with diverse communities, organizations and agencies preferred. Strong communication skills are required.

· Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
· Must be able to communicate effectively and be a team player at the Coalition.
· Must be able to commit to the Coalition vision and be passionate about its mission.
Requires reliable transportation as travel is required, valid driver’s license, good driving record and automobile insurance.Physical Requirements:
· Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, and other federal, state and local standards.
· Must be able to travel to alternate locations.
· Required to sit, stand, walk, speak and hear while performing the duties of this job, regularly. The position requires extensive computer use so the employee must have sufficient hand dexterity to use a computer keyboard and be capable of reading a computer screen
