This position is the heartbeat of “ALX Community.” You’ll be responsible for fostering a welcoming and organized work environment for members and guests all while working for Old Town’s best shared coworking community.

You also have an uncanny ability to multitask, yet still perform every assignment with immaculate precision. Nothing can get past you, and you’re sure to follow up on every task to make sure it’s completed right and on time. From introducing the space to new guests, to overseeing the needs of over 800 unique members, the Community Manager is a self-disciplined problem-solver who is eager to go the extra mile for the members and guests.

What will you be doing? | Role and Responsibilities 

• Sales:

  You’ll drive the sales process by giving tours to prospective members, building relationships with them, and eventually closing the deal. You will be responsible for keeping your leads up to date and organized. You must understand our products and services and how to explain them to potential and current members. 

• Member Retention:

  You’ll maintain a daily cadence with members to ensure that their needs are being looked after. Their experience is the most important part of our job. 

• Operations:

  You’ll ensure that all of our systems are running smoothly (ie. AV equipment, printers, coffee machines, media walls, security cameras, etc.) In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring that our communities always look beautiful and are stocked with all the necessary supplies. You will need to impress our members with your amazing troubleshooting skills through helping them with their multitude of requests 

• Hospitality:

  You exude a hospitable demeanor and always have a positive and welcoming attitude. Create an inclusive environment that fosters collaboration and creativity - both internally and externally. You should also be confident and adaptable in any situation. 

• Finance:

  You will monitor your monthly and yearly budget at your property to ensure you are tracking expenses appropriately. 

• Programming:

  You will head one of our Member Programming initiatives and will be responsible for creation and execution of the event 

• Leadership:

  You may be responsible for managing one team member and should have experience managing others 

Other Responsibilities:

• Keeping track of inventory, ordering and stocking supplies, answering phones, and mail/package management 

• It’s all about people! Being on the ALX Community team means always being attuned to people's needs and being customer-centric

• Getting the job done is critical- this is an operationally based role

• You should be a practical, creative, fast-thinker who is constantly on their feet and aware that others are counting on you

• You should be a results-driven individual who, with very thorough processes, is a great methodologist

• Multi-tasking should be a breeze for you

• Be familiar with the startup and small business ecosystem along with the daily happenings of the city

What’s your background? | Qualification Requirements 

• 1-2 years of Management or Supervisory experience

• Hospitality, Retail or Sales background

• Excellent computer and technical skills

• Great verbal and written communication skills

• Critical thinking ability 

• Ability to lift and handle packages, furniture and supplies up to 75 lbs 

• Bending, sitting, stooping, kneeling, reaching and squatting on a frequent basis to receive/store inventory, stock supplies, and clean equipment
