Job Overview:
As a Community Lending Officer, you'll play a vital role in fostering community relationships and facilitating access to mortgage lending opportunities. Your focus will be on cultivating a network of community and business connections, particularly within underserved areas, to promote homeownership. Your engagement with various stakeholders, including community-based organizations, realtors, builders, and government agencies, will be instrumental in generating new business.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Real Estate Lending Sales Director to coordinate community lending initiatives, emphasizing outreach in diverse communities and promoting financial education.
- Analyze market data to identify opportunities for enhancing lending performance within low- to moderate-income (LMI) areas.
- Conduct member interviews to understand their financial goals, recommend suitable loan products, and ensure seamless processing of loan applications.
- Lead strategic planning sessions to set objectives for serving LMI markets effectively.
- Facilitate homebuyer seminars and participate in community events to promote homeownership and financial literacy.
- Volunteer involvement with not-for-profit organizations' boards or committees.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Work Experience: Minimum three years of experience in marketing and originating community lending mortgage loans. Demonstrated success in driving LMI mortgage loan volume.
- Relationships: Established networks with referral partners, outreach organizations, and LMI housing groups.
- Certification: Active registration status with NMLS.
- Skills: Proven sales acumen, excellent time management, self-motivation, and superior communication skills.
- Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Encompass loan origination software, and AUS systems (DU, Total Scorecard, GUS).
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Performance Measurements:
- Achievement of monthly loan production goals.
- Focus on member satisfaction and adherence to asset quality standards.
Work Environment:
This role primarily operates in an office setting with computer-based work. Any necessary accommodations will be provided.
Physical Demands:
May involve lifting, standing, or sitting for extended periods, as well as potential temperature variations.
