Overview:

Community Integration Service Supervisors play a critical role in providing high quality supports . They provide direct support services along with administrative and oversight duties. As a CIS, they provide a wide variety of person-centered supports and services to people with developmental disabilities. CISs empower the people they support by providing education, experience and exposure so they can make their own informed choices. CISs model, teach and advocate for people with developmental disabilities in order to support them to achieve their highest level of independent living, enable their fullest participation in society, ensure their civil and human rights are protected and promote their ability to be productive, contributing members of the community. Additionally, Community Integration Service Supervisors assist the Director in providing oversight of the day to day, hands on operation of the groups, leadership of staff, and ensuring high quality supports are being provided.

Responsibilities:

• Creates and maintains CIS schedules ensuring staff ratios and groups are appropriate.
• On-call duties for call-offs and staff emergencies. Provide CIS services in the absence of other staff.
• Review staff clock in and out to ensure proper payroll accounting and billing for the persons supported.
• Develops and oversees daily program activities for people supported.
• Ensures each group has calendar outlined and assists with any changes as needed.
• Communicates regularly with the Community Integration Director to ensure continuity of care.
• Attends professional meetings to give feedback and support for people receiving services.
• Consistent review of all service documentation to ensure it is being done timely and correctly.
• Consistent review of all medications passed to ensure it is being done timely and correctly.
• Ensure people supported are aware and involved of all aspects of their supports and services.
• Understands and follows the National Alliance of Direct Support Professionals (NADSP) code of ethics.
• Maintains their first allegiance to the people they support by demonstrating respect and supporting problem solving skills.
• Routinely observing and speaking to people supported to assess effectiveness of program implementation and consistency of training effort to determine effectiveness of person-centered plans.
• Promotes daily thinking and problem-solving skills of the person served, using active listening and coaching skills in order to reduce their dependency on staff and increase their self-esteem.
• Understands and promotes the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights; teaching and modeling rights to people supported.
• Encourages growth and recognizes autonomy while being attentive and energetic in always reducing the risk of harm by providing all necessary supports indicated in the person-centered plan.
• Has solid knowledge and understanding of person-centered planning and service delivery.
• Assists in the development (up to and including attending person-centered planning meetings), implementation and on-going evaluation of active treatment plans that are based on the person’s preferences, needs and interests.
• Ensures that we have the most up-to-date person-centered service plans for the person supported.
• Maintains close communication with the Director to ensure behavior support strategies are implemented appropriately and with the utmost respect for the person supported.
• Helps people supported to develop/maintain positive interpersonal relationships with their peers, CIS and with people in the community.
• Actively plans and implements at monthly staff meetings by communicating observations concerning progress and reaction to various therapy programs.
• Completes accurate service and support documentation within required timeframes, based on the implementation of the habilitation plan.
• Practices safe and sound crisis prevention and intervention strategies by promoting and teaching the use of preventative strategies, therapeutic activities and recreation, and early intervention techniques.
• Helps with navigating the community effectively and appropriately.
• Follows all safety and risk guidelines for people supported.
• Recognizes abuse, neglect, mistreatment, and exploitation (ANME) and as a mandated reporter, reports unusual and major unusual incidents following the ANME policies.
• Provides ongoing communication within and across departments to ensure proper service delivery is provided.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments; teaches, observes, reports concerns and progress in self-administration of medication; assists the individuals in achieving more independence in administration of medications.
• Coordinates with the appropriate CIS and home staff to ensure that adequate supplies of medications are readily available.
• Proactively ensures the hub location is a comfortable environment that is clean, neat and kept in an orderly condition by teaching, assisting and performing cleaning/housekeeping duties.
• Teaches and reinforces all safety procedures to people supported, including regular environmental safety inspections.
• Understands and can execute specific fire/emergency preparedness plans for the location in which he/she is assigned.
• Assists with training of all incoming CIS to ensure that they are following guidelines of program for van usage as well as program operations.
• Assists Director with various assignments including the purchase of supplies, tracking expenditures, routine maintenance, repairs and other operational duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Completes mandatory initial and annual training prior to the expiration date to maintain skills.

• Follows safety regulations at all times and addresses safety issues that may arise.
• Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum starting age 18
• Must have a valid Ohio driver's license with 5 points or less
• Must have criminal record that qualifies you for developmental disability employment, based on the Ohio Revised Code
• At least one year working in the developmental disabilities field required. Experience supporting children with complex needs is preferred.

• Use of a laptop or tablet for documentation and timekeeping.
