The Community Health Worker will support EBNHC as the organization’s brand ambassador by exhibiting the EBNHC core values, mission statement, vision statement and DEI commitments when engaging community organizations, forging relationships with vital stakeholders, and ensuring EBNHC is a participatory voice in all matters related to community health equity efforts. This role will be flexible, dynamic, self-motivated, community oriented, compassionate and professional in representing EBNHC in its service areas.
Activities under the purview of this role include:
• Maintain certifications required for success in this role (MassHealth Certified Application Counselor, Community Health Worker or Medical Assistant)
• Participate in the planning and execution of outreach events, MassHealth insurance enrollment events and community meetings.
• Effectively communicate needs and suggestions gathered during community events/meetings
• Develop and maintain relationships with community stakeholders and community members.
• Be a proactive participant in community improvement – such as lead community advisory sub-working groups or participate in process improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrate ability to work effectively in a team environment across the organization; while also able to work on assignments without extensive supervision.
This role, supervised by the Outreach & Enrollment Supervisor, will require flexibility in work hours to attend some week day, various after hours and weekends Community Outreach and Networking Events as well as have reliable transportation.
The ideal candidate will be bilingual, knowledgeable about the EBNHC service area, outgoing and have 1-3 years of experience in people-facing and/or project-based work. (Including work as a volunteer in your community or related). All levels of education are accepted (Attending high school, high school grads, college students and grads are welcomed)!
Schedule will vary and will include evening and nights for community outreach events
