Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties has a full-time opportunity for a Community Education Supervisor in Anaheim, CA.
Responsible for developing innovative programs and modules consistent with evidence-based principles in the areas of growth and development, and sexual/reproductive health tailored for a variety of audiences. Supervises and coordinates presentation schedules for health educators in OC and SB for all school-based and community-based health education requests. Manages and delivers K-6th grade educational content and programs, including puberty, safer social media, and online safety, bullying, body image, etc.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Health Education or related field.
- Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) certification desired
Minimum Work Experience:
- 2-3 years related experience working with students or families within grades K-6th, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of content related to elementary school-aged related topics such as puberty, bullying, online safety, gender inclusivity, etc.
- Experience developing/facilitating/delivering experiential training programs in an ever-changing environment and for multiple age groups is required.
Supervisory Experience:
- Demonstrated ability as an effective leader, including coaching and team-building skills.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience training and supervising multiple staff.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent strategic planning skills.
- Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work without direct supervision.

- This position requires travel to other sites and locations; and requires a personal vehicle to meet this requirement, a valid CA driver’s license and current auto insurance in compliance with the minimum requirements of CA vehicle code are required.
Abortion patients are cared for at each of our health centers and in part through the administrative, support, and other non-clinical services provided at all PPOSBC locations and by all PPOSBC employees, and supporting these critical services is an essential job duty and fundamental responsibility of all employees.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions: Essential functions encompass the required tasks, duties and responsibilities performed as part of the job and the reason the job exists.
- Develop professional and quality presentations consistent with company branding, drawing from evidence-based curricula that include workshops on puberty, bullying, online safety, and other relevant content for K-6th audiences and their families.
- Lead the Here Comes Puberty Program, including promotion, coordination, and workshop implementation to school-based and community-based locations.
- Develop promotional toolkits to promote programming appropriate for K-6th participants and their families. Facilitate efforts with other team members in adapting modules and toolkits for different sources such as the media, internet, and print.
- Establish and maintain professional contacts with organizations/agencies, service providers, youth-serving personnel, school district personnel, parents/caregivers, and individuals as appropriate.
- Prepare and disseminate educational and informational materials using various methods and approaches.
- Provide technical, programmatic, and results-oriented input in all aspects of Community Education programs while maintaining a learner approach among all team members.
- Assist with supervision, coordination, and operations of all Health Educators.
- Monitor projects’ progress and manage multiple projects, as required.
- Work with the Community Education & Outreach Director and Vice-President to identify program opportunities and areas of improvement. Develop and implement systems to evaluate program’s effectiveness, and revise programs accordingly.
- Support Community Education & Outreach Director and Vice-President and act as liaison between Planned Parenthood and professional organizations/agencies to ensure maximum involvement with community projects, as needed.
- Manage administrative support and oversee all training logistics and recruitment info to ensure high-quality training experiences for all participants across all programs.
- Work with Community Education Manager to ensure quality assurance and best practices among all health educators for appropriate delivery of programs across OC and SB.
- Research and develop curriculum for program’s targeted audience(s) and/or research curriculum for additional program objectives as determined by evaluation of program’s effectiveness and connection to behavior change of targeted population.
