WSP's Communications and Public Involvement Practice is seeking a Community Agreements and Involvement Senior Consultant in our Seattle, WA office. This is a senior communications role, with expectations of providing communications and public involvement strategy, delivering project work, supporting future work pursuits, and providing mentorship to team colleagues.

Who We Are Looking For:
The best candidate will be an experienced self-starter with the motivation and practice of simultaneously working on multiple and dynamic project deliverables. This requires self-accountability, including smart time management, excellent organization skills, maximizing of resources, and being results driven and proactive with challenging environments. Creativity and collaboration are essential in bringing our clients the most innovative and effective communications ideas, solutions and resources. Experience with public information and community engagement best practices will build authentic relationships with the project's communities. The person in this role should be prepared to create and deliver options and solutions for proactive public communications in a fast-paced environment.
Your Impact
- Provide senior-level communications and public involvement expertise and delivery
- Provide communications and public involvement project management and implementation support, which may include as-needed support to major transportation megaprojects.
- Provide coordination and support with WSP's Government Relations team.
- Lead internal and external relationship development.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to Communications and Public Involvement Colleages.
- Be comfortable showing discretion and diplomacy with a wide variety of community leaders and members.
- Manage development and implementation of communications and public involvement strategies.
- Provide oversight of communications and public involvement teams, including teams of up to 10 staff.
- Work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment, as well as independently utilizing best practices for public information, including the quick and accurate dissemination of information to populations and partner agencies with limited resources.
- Manage the development, production and distribution of essential information, content and updates regarding complex projects.
- Manage and provide guidance on strategies to engage all communities, especially underserved and marginalized people, impacted by transportation and housing projects using a variety of tools and methods including workshops, public meetings, market research, public information and advertising campaigns, visuals, and more.
- Ensure accurate and efficient dissemination of information tailored to different audiences.
- Provide proofing and quality control processes of project materials.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (in journalism, English, communications, public information or related field) with a minimum of 5 years post-graduation work experience.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience within the public or private sector in planning/infrastructure project community engagement.
- Demonstrate history of successful relationship-building and delivery for key public agencies in the Pacific Northwest community.
- A commitment to and experience with equitable engagement.
- Senior-level experience with public involvement and community engagement on planning or AEC projects.
- Senior-level experience working closely with clients and technical teams.
- Ability to meet deadlines and be flexible in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience developing engagement materials or campaigns for the public or stakeholders, including written content.
- Strong public speaking skills and experience presenting information publicly.
- Experience with messaging campaigns and communications plans in the public sector.
- Experience with the Microsoft suite of software including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
- Ability to exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Compensation:
Expected Salary: $138,960 - $169,840
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
