We are searching for a Commodity Manager with direct experience in the semiconductor mechanical rack industry. This includes establishing three- to five-year plans & objectives and will develop policies for the function sites. Accountable for projects or programs on a multi-functional, national, or regional basis. Establishes long term plans/objectives and recommends changes to policies. Builds cross-functional relationships where persuasive skills, negotiation skills, and considerable tact are required to gain support. Interacts regularly with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions and/or customers. Maintains positive relationships with key customers, suppliers, etc., who have a significant impact on the success of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Manages Mechanical Rack Commodity with worldwide responsibility for a complex group of components or services.
- Provides guidance and support during global negotiations of pricing, terms and conditions and monitoring of supplier performance.
- Provides guidance and support for worldwide product sourcing process.
- Maintains responsibility for development and execution of procurement strategies for a group of components or services.
- Manages complex and varied commodities in an environment of rapid global acquisitions.
- Establishes and drives strategic global bidding/initiatives while ensuring all sites interests are understood and accounted for
- Maintains responsibility for commodity plans, supplier selection, quotation/contracting and supplier relationship management for high dollar commodities.
- Participates in Corporate Commodity Council meetings to provide updates on key measurements and to identify and lead implementation of strategic initiatives.
- Establishes "rules of interaction" between Corporate & sites to establish commodity splits, reporting, responsibilities and overall communications.
- Facilitates the process of making the material commitments on behalf of the company.
- Establishes department goals/ measurements and manages resources to achieve this goals.
- Drives continuous improvements of SCM function through interactions with other departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field (Business, Commerce, Engineering), or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ Years of Semiconductor or Hi-Tech Industry experience
- Expert knowledge of the marketplace conditions for a broad range of strategic commodities in industry pricing, technology, supply/demand and emerging trends.
- Excellent understanding of global business environment and customers’ business, organization, products and processes.
- Strong knowledge of engineering concepts and financial analysis.
- Ability to leads complex negotiations effectively
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
- Ability to interface with many international sites to establish strong working relationships and cooperation.
