Arcosa Wind Towers is seeking a Commodity Manager. In this role you will conduct all business in accordance first with the policies and procedures of this organization; however, subjects not covered by policies and procedures will be handled per the best business purchasing standards as currently practiced or as directed by the Manager of Supply Chain. This role will guide other department personnel to determine the most suitable product or service to meet their needs considering the entire organization's objectives. This position reports to the Supply Chain Manager and will work closely with the Leadership team.

What you'll do:
- Learn and implement the accepted business purchasing methods and purchasing policies/procedures of this organization
- Fully understand the industry with which he or she deals; should include who the major suppliers are, the economic status of those suppliers and the industry, and current and expected developments within the industry
- Learn about the products and services with which he or she will transact business and to buy those products or services with the most favorable terms and conditions
- Become familiar with the people in this organization with whom transactions will be conducted and to know enough about the business and products of this organization to convey any unrestricted and required information accurately to suppliers
- Find the best source to meet this organization's objectives, to negotiate the most favorable agreement possible, and to prepare the documentation for that agreement in accordance with all laws and so that the agreement protects this organization's interest
- Follow-up or expedite orders to see that they are delivered as scheduled, being an escalation point if issues arise
- Resolve discrepancies or negotiate settlements to the best possible long-term advantage of this organization
- Check requisitions for completeness and clarity; obtain necessary missing information where required
- Diplomatically instruct requisitioners or specifiers on what data is necessary to obtain good product
- Shop for the best sources
- Obtain and analyze bids in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Prepare purchase orders, work with sites to prepare purchase orders, or other agreements as necessary and check them for accuracy and completeness before issuing
- Review acknowledgments for agreement with purchase orders and resolve any discrepancies with the supplier to the best possible advantage for this organization
- Follow-up or expedite orders as necessary to meet schedules based on the escalation process
- Keep the Supply Chain Manager informed of all activities or problems and submit reports as requested by management
- Conduct root cause analysis by part and PO of budget misses; track and report financial budget impacts monthly. Recover or return monies owed us or the customer.
- Perform consistent analysis and conduct negotiations to mitigate surplus in a directed buy with specific scope and lot size purchasing environment.
- Understand, implement, communicate and ensure adherence to customers' directed buy sourcing strategy.
- Work with Supplier Quality to ensure all qualification requirements are met for new suppliers, new scope of existing suppliers, suppliers with changing production environments.

What you'll need:
- Bachelor’s Degree or 5-7 years in a Procurement leadership role
- 2-4 years of Commodity Management experience required
- Strong Lean background from a Supply Chain base
- Strong analytical, organizational, decision-making abilities
- Strong Computer skills/abilities to work with various software packages including high competency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Project and PowerPoint
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective relationship management with internal and external business partners
