As a Warranty supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible about all the warranty issues arisen from the customer, mainly: be the focal point with Client, coordinate all warranty activities in Client and provide report to Company warranty headquarters, manage the warranty on-site team, follow-up the reliability project plan and control of field modifications.
Before the first Married-Pairs enter into revenue service, they will be familiarized with the vehicles performing commissioning and validation duties. Additionally they will keep supporting commissioning and validation staff till the last Married-Pair delivery. As a Commissioning and Validation Engineer the will organize, perform and supervise train functional and validation tests. These tests will be mostly performed on married-pairs, before and after the overhaul.
LOCATION: Mainly - in Los Angeles (CA). 1-month training in Spain may be required. Additionally, prior to joining the LA office, working in the Company's facility in Milwaukee (WI) for approx. 6 months will be required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but not limited to:
- Validate/Review test documents
- Diagnose faults and repair the systems in order to pass the functional tests.
- Analyze documentation: technical specifications, final/type tests, schematics (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic), and supplier documentation.
- Prepare documentation for train functional tests.
- Perform serial functional tests (both dynamic and static) of the different train systems (as for example, Propulsion, ATC, Public announcement system, Friction brake electronics and electrical vehicle coupling).
- Work closely with customers, suppliers, management and other company departments.
- Tooling design and use.
- Comply with company procedures, especially regarding risk management.
- Business travel.
- Other duties may be assigned, as an example – the candidate will support the Facility Preventative Maintenance Program.
- Be thoroughly familiar with the operation of the Vehicles;
- Provide support during the warranty period by isolating failures;
- Provide replacement parts and respond to any warranty claims, including initiation and follow- up of remedial actions;
- Be fluent in the English language and fully familiar with all Vehicle systems.
- Control of field modifications;
- Address and close out Warranty issues.
- Daily meeting with Client to review any outstanding issues on the Vehicles
- Weekly open item meetings with Client to discuss/resolve any technical or design issues
- Reliability and Failure Analyses, including Reliability Program & Reliability Demonstration
- Maintainability Requirement demonstration
- Warranty Period Exit Joint Inspection with Client
- Additional training to Client for all Vehicle modifications integrated during the warranty period.
- Spare parts inventory management
- Strong knowledge of the contractual requirements about warranty with the main suppliers.
- Focal point with main suppliers supported by headquarters.
- Root-cause fault analysis.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
They will supervise the Electrical Commissioning Specialists work 1-2 persons) and monitor the main suppliers’ service dealer warranty activities in Client.
REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE:
- Engineer Degree, preferable industrial electrician.
- Five-year’ related experience or similar.
- Skilled in the use of operating portable test equipment, bench type work stations, tools, parts and supply manuals.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting electrical and pneumatic schematics, maintenance and repair manuals, detail drawings and specifications.
- Skilled in preparing written reports, documenting defects and repairs on inspection forms and work orders.
- Skilled in applying industrial safety procedures and standards including cleaning and maintaining work area.
- Skilled in problem solving, analyzing and diagnosing equipment problems.
- Skilled in oral and written communications, to include: development of ad-hoc reports, presentation and explanation of data to the team and/or customers.
- Skilled in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships Skill in working under established deadlines and timeframes.
- Must be able to work with little, to no-supervision
- Must have a positive attitude and be a good team player
- Must have a proven record of meeting stringent deadlines and be able to acclimate to an industrial work environment
- Must be able to use computer programs such as: Word, Excel and Outlook, and others
- Must be able to take and pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must be able to successfully pass a background check including MVR
- Must possess or acquire a valid U.S. passport within 30 days of employment
- Must be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally per operational needs
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience working in an ISO certified environment is desirable.
- Working knowledge of SAP is desirable.
- Experience in commissioning or maintenance desirable.
