Commercial Lines Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
The Mahoney Group delivers expert advice to our clients that inspires confidence to face whatever lies ahead. The Commercial Lines Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering our ideal results by managing and motivating our Commercial Lines team. The Commercial Lines Manager works closely with leadership to develop and implement agreed-upon strategies. This role includes the crucial function of creating and executing plans to coordinate resources to meet profitability and service goals. This position is responsible for hiring individuals to fit the needs of the department while aligning the aspirations and strengths of individuals to their appropriate roles.
OBJECTIVES
- Effectively lead and mentor a team of commercial lines account managers and support staff while fostering a culture of excellence
- Oversee daily operations, assignments, and performance evaluations within the commercial lines service department
- Ensure company goals and objectives are being met by each employee
- Train new employees on company standards and procedures
- Attend and participate in internal meetings and complete required training
- Identify opportunities for service improvements based on client feedback and industry trends
- Develop best practices for service offerings
- Maintain knowledge of the agency management system (EPIC) and supporting applications
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
- Work in conjunction with the Practice Group Leader to meet the service and profitability goals of the Practice Group

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- State insurance license and additional industry certifications (CIC, CPCU, etc.) are a plus
- Proven experience in commercial lines insurance and leadership roles
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products and the insurance industry
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical requirements are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Sit at a desk and use a computer for extended periods of time
- Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and up to 25 pounds on occasion
- Regularly talk to communicate and hear to understand
- Use hands to reach and grasp and use fingers to feel and touch
- Ability to see with close vision and ability to adjust focus
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position typically operates within an office environment with a flexible work from home arrangement. However, the Commercial Lines Department Manager must be in the office at least 3 days per week. There may be weeks when this position requires 4-5 days in office.
This position will involve monthly travel to Mahoney Group offices in Phoenix and Tucson. This position may involve occasional travel to meet with corporate clients, attend industry events, or to visit underwriters.

Job duties are performed in an indoor office setting with computers, telephones, and copy/print machines. Noise levels are minimal to moderate.
