We're seeking a dynamic, experienced Commercial Superintendent to join our innovative engineering team. This role will offer you the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, from healthcare and industrial construction to multifamily and office construction. You will be responsible for leading and managing all onsite activities, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities:
As a Commercial Superintendent, you will be the primary leader on the construction site, responsible for ensuring all projects are executed successfully. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing all phases of project construction, from groundbreaking to completion and handover.
2. Managing subcontractors effectively to ensure the highest quality of work.
3. Developing and maintaining project schedules, including 3-week lookaheads, to ensure timely completion of projects.
4. Ensuring all construction activities align with project plans and specifications.
5. Implementing and maintaining safety standards to create a safe work environment for all team members.
6. Coordinating with project managers, architects, and engineers to resolve any potential design or implementation issues.
7. Supervising tenant improvement and remodel projects as needed.
8. Monitoring and managing project costs to ensure they remain within budget.
9. Providing regular project updates to stakeholders and management.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this role will have a robust background in the engineering industry, with a specific focus on commercial construction. The following qualifications are required:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Commercial Superintendent or similar role in the engineering industry.
2. Proven experience in healthcare construction, industrial construction, multifamily construction, and office construction.
3. Experience with affordable housing and ground-up projects.
4. Demonstrated ability in tenant improvement and remodel projects.
5. Strong knowledge of subcontractor management and project scheduling.
6. Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
7. Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
8. Proven ability to manage and complete projects on time and within budget.
9. A strong commitment to safety and quality.
10. A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
