The CSfC Lead Engineer will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) systems in accordance with National Security Agency (NSA) guidelines. This role requires an individual with deep expertise in secure communications, cryptographic solutions, and complex network architectures. The CSfC Lead Engineer will lead the integration of commercial technologies into classified environments to meet mission-critical requirements for government and defense clients. Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Active Top Secret security clearance.
- This position is on-site, and candidate will be required to be onsite 5 days a week. (Transportation benefits are available!)
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of systems engineering and architect experience
- System engineering certification
- 4+ years of CSfC experience in designing and deploying CSfC solutions
- Expertise in designing and implementing CSfC solutions or related secure network architectures.
- In-depth understanding of encryption technologies, VPNs (IPsec, TLS), PKI, key management, and secure mobile solutions.
- Familiarity with NSA's CSfC program, and its components such as Capability Packages (CPs).
- Knowledge of Federal and DoD security policies, including NIST guidelines, FIPS, and RMF.
- Experience obtaining certifications and ATO for classified environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCSP.
- Experience with secure mobile and wireless technologies.
- Strong knowledge of cloud security and hybrid cloud environments.
- Experience working directly with the NSA, DoD, or other government security organizations.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with multiple stakeholders in a high-pressure environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect and Design Solutions:
- Design secure, NSA-approved CSfC solutions to protect classified information at rest and in transit using commercial technologies.
Develop layered security architectures using encryption, VPNs, PKI, mobile, and wireless technologies in compliance with CSfC requirements. - Ensure solution designs align with DoD, NSA, and other government agency security policies and standards.
- Independently engage vendors to discuss new technologies and solution requirements.
Implementation & Integration:
- Lead the deployment and integration of CSfC components such as IPsec, TLS, and wireless protection solutions into client systems.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with existing infrastructures, networks, and systems.
- Create detailed documentation and guidelines for the installation and configuration of CSfC-approved products.
Compliance & Certification:
- Ensure systems and architectures meet NSA guidelines for CSfC.
Collaborate with the NSA, DoD, and other relevant agencies to gain certifications for CSfC solutions. - Provide support in obtaining necessary approvals and Authority to Operate (ATO) for CSfC deployments.
Security and Risk Management:
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and risk analysis to ensure the robustness of the proposed architectures.
- Ensure continuous security monitoring and improvement of CSfC deployments.
- Provide incident response support and security posture evaluations.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage various government and commercial technical POCs in the development of custom enterprise solutions.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) to advise clients on best practices for CSfC implementation.
- Interface with government clients, contractors, and internal teams to communicate technical architectures, strategies, and implementation plans.
- Provide regular updates to leadership and stakeholders on project milestones, risks, and performance.
