Job Description: HVAC Service Specialist  – Commercial

Summary

Assists lead Service Specialists engaged in installing, repairing, and servicing industrial, commercial, and residential environmental control systems.  **Minimum two years of experience required**

Essential Duties and Responsibilities includes, but not limited to the following:

• Cuts, punches, flan gas, shears, and solders sheet metal ducts and parts.

• Cuts threads and packs pipes.

• Cements insulation in place over finished piping or tubing.

• Passes electrical wire through conduit, splices wire connections, and tapes wire.

• Assembles sheet metal components of prefabricated furnaces.

• Replaces exhausted or defective containers of refrigerant with new refrigerant.

• Lubricates fans, motors, and control units.

• Installs air and water filters in completed assembly.

• Furnishes worker with materials, tools, and supplies.

• Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment.

• Performs other routine duties.

Education and/or Experience One-to-two-year certificate from college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and co-workers in English.

Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to navigate a smart phone or tablet for various web-based applications.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Qualified candidates will be EPA certified. All Service Specialist must hold a current driver's license.
