Gridwealth supports businesses through a range of energy solutions including Commercial & Industrial Solar Systems (Rooftop, Canopy, & Ground), Battery Energy Storage Systems, Community Shared Solar Projects, Operations & Maintenance, and Energy Consulting Services. The company is growing fast and seeks to add a Commercial Real Estate Attorney experienced with commercial leasing and real estate closings. This Attorney will have significant responsibility and authority to own the full lifecycle of these real estate transactions from start to finish. Collaboration with leadership is key to the role, and would require a significant in-office presence although hours/schedule can have flexibility. Qualified candidates will have 5+ years of experience in real estate transactions and lender/borrower matters. They will have experience representing owners, sponsors, developers, and lenders in drafting agreements relating to the acquisition, ownership, financing, development, sale, and leasing of real estate. Additional requirements include strong organizational and communication skills, and a desire to excel in a growing energy firm.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Draft, review, and negotiate real estate transaction documents (site lease agreements, loan and financing documents, and other documents typical of such transactions)
- Review and analyze due diligence materials for various types of real estate transactions.
- Supervise the review of title and survey.
- Draft and review entity governing and authorization documents.
- Organize and coordinate closings.
- Support acquisition/disposition process.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
- A current active member of the Massachusetts Bar (in good standing) and/or other state bars.
- Juris Doctor degree from ABA-accredited law school and strong academic performance.
- 5+ years of relevant commercial real estate experience.
- Solar or Energy industry experience is a plus but not required. We will train for the right person.
- A driven self-starter with excellent analytical and writing skills who is willing and able to handle multiple transactions from start to finish.
- Work independently or collaboratively as circumstances dictate.
- Demonstrated ability to manage relationships.
