About the Job
We are looking for a North American Commercial/Contracts Manager who is experienced in the full sales lifecycle for SAAS and License/PS sales from the tender stage, contract closure and then management of contract changes once the work is underway.
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for all commercial, contract and financial matters. The Commercial Manager will also help to set up and develop the function at Symphony-AI Financial Services both in the Americas and internationally. This is an opportunity to lead and develop a team over time as our contracts get larger and more complex. Our Financial division is one of the main pillars of the Symphony AI portfolio of companies and grew 30% in 2023. The Commercial Manager will report into the Commercial Director based in the UK.
Job Description:What you will be doing..
This role will be focused on the Symphony-AI Financial Services in the Americas region.
• Ensuring the successful day to day management and reporting of commercial activities and resources
• Developing the Contract Management function – people and resources
• Leading negotiations with Customers, Partners and Suppliers (in conjunction with Financial Services procurement)
• Creating and negotiating standard commercial arrangements (NDAs, teaming agreements, work orders, contracts and framework contracts)
• Managing contracts in accordance with guidelines, regulations and approvals
• Leading commercial strategy
• Supporting sales. partners and account teams - including challenging and developing costing, pricing and risk approaches
• Providing experience, commercial advice and support to accounts and the rest of the team
• Liaising closely with Finance, Legal and other functions
• Develop, maintain and ensuring compliance with purchasing policies and procedures.
• Contributing to the overall Commercial leadership team
What we are looking for..
• 7+ years commercial and contract management experience in the US/Canadian/International government and commercial sectors
• Experience in negotiating commercial deals for large ($5m+) and complex software, hardware and SAAS managed service solutions within IT/IS domain
• Experience of managed service/outsourcing and multi-vendor contracting models
• Understanding of service integration approaches in IT provision
• Understanding of different selling models for services, products (software licenses and hardware) and consultancy
• Good communication, inter-personal and negotiation skills
• Maturity and gravitas to work with senior levels of clients
• Substantial legal understanding and ability to provide guidance on all areas of the Company’s Commercial Policy
• Ability to forge strong working relationships with peers and other colleagues
• Working knowledge of legal issues, drafting of agreements, contracts, associated sub-contracts, common and statutory legislation, data, security and privacy standards and export control
• Ability to understand and challenge project P&L accounts
• Experience of alternative and innovative contract models
• Good technical degree in a relevant subject
• Good computer skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Power Point.
