This position is responsible for managing, retaining, and expanding a portfolio of commercial clients in an asigned market with primary emphasis on growing client relationships and sales of First American Bank (FAB) products.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
SALES:
- Identify and generate new Commercial Banking, Private, and Wealth Management client relationships through sales calls, referrals and networking.
- Maintain and expand relationships with professional firms in the regional market, including: Accountants, Lawyers, Private Equity and Investment Banking Sponsors to introduce and sell FAB products and services.
PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT:
- Support a portfolio, as assigned, to retain and expand the client relationships through regular contact and responsive service.
- Support and oversight of Relationship Managers and Analysts with their existing relationships, commercial credit responsibilities, and business development activities to support growth.
- Manage the portfolio in accordance with established lending and credit policies to maintain expected credit quality and loan administration.
MANAGEMENT:
- Direct oversight of Commercial Banking Relationship Managers and Analysts within the Group. Responsibilities will include oversight of the Group’s new business development and adherence to sales objectives, existing client management with expansion of relationships, credit structure and management within the Group’s portfolio, mentoring staff development, and recruitment/hiring of additional qualified Commercial Banking Professionals for the Group.
OTHER:
- Collaborate and build relationships with other lines of business to increase market share of all First American Bank products and services.
- Works closely with Relationship Managers and Associates, as requested, to insure their satisfactory performance and career progression.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree, or higher, with degree concentration in Finance or Accounting preferred.
- Minimum of ten years commercial lending. Prior supervisory responsibilities preferred.
- Extensive experience in credit analysis, structuring, and negotiation; including documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to generate new business, preferably in the asigned market.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Advanced analytical expertise.
- Thorough understanding of all bank policies and procedures.
- Strong leadership qualities.
- Demonstrated sales ability.
- Fundamental business computer aptitude with experience in word processing and spreadsheet applications (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, etc.) required.
- This position requires regular travel by car to various locations throughout the Bank's market.
- Occasional out-of-state travel may be required.
- Typical schedule is Monday – Friday, 7:30AM-5:00PM. Additional hours may be required as workload dictates.
