About the Job
We're searching for a talented, analytical, and high-performing loan operations associate to join our loan operations team which is responsible for all loan document preparation, funding, and post-closing loan related functions (i.e., collateral, advances, etc.).
The ideal candidate will be responsible for professionally interacting with relationship managers, attorneys, title companies, and insurance companies throughout the entire process from point of application to resolution and closure and post-closing while ensuring quality delivery timely and accurately and the bank's security interest is properly protected.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interface with relationship managers to obtain all loan documents prior to closing. (i.e.: compliance with loan agreements, financial statements, title work necessary to perfect lien, corporate resolutions, appropriate fees, etc.)
- Perform loan closings on commercial and real estate loans not closed through a title company.
- Perform final review of all loan documents at time of closing for accuracy, prior to funding, and post-closing review to ensure loans were properly executed.
- Fund all loan closings.
- Request loan documents from the attorneys on the larger commercial and real estate loans; interim construction loans.
- Order and review necessary documentation such as appraisals, appraisal reviews, title commitments, title endorsements, environmentals, flood search, lien search, good standing certificate, etc.
- Work as a member of special or ongoing projects that are important to area/process improvement.
- Assist with establishing work procedures and processes that support the company and departmental standards.
- Complete and pass required training courses by due date.
QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:
- Effective listening skills, communication skills, and basic business writing skills with the ability to convey complex information in a way that is easy for others to understand.
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of lending regulations and compliance issues associated with various types of loans. (Commercial, Real Estate, Consumer, Letters of Credit, Participations).
- Knowledge of various types of lending contracts such as Deed of Trust, Mechanic's Lien, Promissory Note, Security Agreement, UCC's, etc.
- Knowledge of state and federal laws (Reg Z, HMDA, CRA) pertaining to lending, collateral, perfection of liens and valid checks.
- Strong time management, organizational & planning skills with proven ability to multi-task & meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Superior analytical & quantitative skills.
- Handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to establish smooth working relationships, resolve interpersonal conflicts, and correct misunderstandings or errors.
- Ability to perform high volumes of work with regular interruptions under deadline pressure without losing accuracy.
- Ability to use good judgment define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to make routine decisions quickly and independently, based on standard policy or procedure.
- Deadline-driven with exceptional attention to detail.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, & Powerpoint).

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience required. College degree or college courses preferred. Paralegal background or similar certificate and equivalent experience in a related field preferred.
- 3 - 5 years of applicable banking experience, including loan servicing and documentation with a thorough understanding and knowledge of banking/compliance regulations associated with the lending function.
- Leadership experience helpful. Software experience with LaserPro and Horizon helpful.
WORKING CONDITIONS / ENVIRONMENT:
HOURS: Monday Friday, 8am 5pm.
Some variation in work hours due to special projects and deadlines.

Generally comfortable professional office environment, largely sedentary, with some moving about the building. High volume of repetitious tasks with heavy deadline pressure with regular interruption. Pressure related to handling large dollar sums without error; can incur financial losses for the bank as a result of inaccurate loan documentation and/or funding. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as calculator/adding machine; computer/keyboard/ten-key, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax/scan machines.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and occasionally required to stand or walk. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds. There is frequent repetitive use of keyboard for approximately 6 hours per day. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
