Commercial Litigation Legal Assistant - PrideStaff

Responsibilities:

• Format, edit, and proofread briefs, pleadings, correspondences, and other documents.
• Prepare and organize notebooks, exhibits, and additional documentation as required.
• File legal documents with state and federal courts, ensuring proficiency in e-filing.
• Assist attorneys and paralegals in preparing for depositions, hearings, and trials.
• Perform various administrative tasks, including conflict checks, opening and closing matters, preparing engagement letters, creating and filing expense reports, entering attorney time, making travel arrangements, and supporting business development and firm projects.
• Organize, update, and maintain both paper and electronic client files.
• Prepare and maintain pleading indexes within the document management system.
• Manage attorneys’ calendars by scheduling appointments and tracking case deadlines.
• Coordinate and schedule meetings, conference calls, and Zoom calls.

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience in litigation.
• Proficient in federal and state court procedures and e-filing requirements, including trial and appellate courts.
• Exceptional proofreading, document formatting, and redlining skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Professional, reliable, and self-motivated.
• Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, plan, and prioritize multiple assignments/projects simultaneously.
• A team player who supports other firm members.
• Experience with Worksite/Filesite document management systems.
• Flexibility to work overtime during the week and weekends as needed.
