Round Hill Search is working with a growing boutique firm seeking a Labor & Employment Attorney with 4-8 years of experience to join their Los Angeles team. As a Labor and Employment Attorney, you will be responsible for handling a wide range of legal matters within the Labor and Employment practice area. This includes litigation, administrative charges, investigations, advice and counsel, and traditional labor issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide expert legal counsel and representation to clients in labor and employment matters.
- Oversee and manage a diverse caseload, handling issues such as discrimination, harassment, wage disputes, and employment contracts.
- Consult with clients to understand their labor and employment needs, providing strategic legal advice.
- Conduct legal research to stay updated on labor and employment laws, regulations, and precedents.
- Draft and review legal documents, including employment contracts, policies, and agreements.
- Assist clients in resolving employment disputes through negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
- Handle matters related to labor unions, collective bargaining agreements, and union disputes.
- Ensure clients' compliance with federal and state labor laws and regulations.
- Develop and conduct training programs for clients on employment law compliance and best practices.
- Assist in the development and review of employment policies and procedures.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing clear communication and updates.
- Contribute to the development and execution of effective legal strategies in labor and employment matters.
- Represent clients in court proceedings related to labor and employment disputes.
- Uphold high ethical standards and maintain client confidentiality.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Juris Doctor with Employment Litigation experience, including deposition taking and defense, court appearances, drafting dispositive motions, and handling discovery.
- Advice and Counsel experience, such as providing legal advice and counsel and reviewing and drafting employee handbooks and policies.
- Traditional Labor experience, whether in the public or private sector, experience in handling discipline, terminations, policy changes in a unionized environment, responding to unfair practice charges, and assisting with collective bargaining.
- Familiarity with wage and hour issues and class actions.
In-depth knowledge of federal and state labor laws, employment regulations, and relevant legal precedents.
Proven ability to negotiate favorable outcomes in labor and employment disputes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for effective legal strategy development.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and deliver exceptional client service.
Ability to work collaboratively with legal teams and support staff.
Capability to lead legal initiatives and mentor junior team members.
SALARY:
Up to $450,000 DOE
