We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Litigation Associate with 2-4 years of experience to join our dynamic legal team. The selected candidate will primarily focus on handling business/real estate litigation and creditors' rights matters. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a proactive individual to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced legal environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse caseload of business/real estate litigation and creditors' rights matters, from inception to resolution.
- Conduct legal research, analyze case law, and prepare legal memoranda and briefs.
- Draft and file pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
- Represent clients in various court proceedings, including hearings, depositions, and mediations.
- Collaborate with partners, senior associates, and support staff to develop case strategies and ensure efficient case management.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal stakeholders to provide updates on case progress and address any concerns.
- Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibit organization, and trial strategy development.
- Stay informed about changes in relevant laws, regulations, and legal trends affecting the practice areas.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar in MD
- 2-4 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on litigation preferred.
- Proven experience handling business/real estate litigation and creditors' rights matters.
- Strong understanding of civil procedure and evidence rules.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
- Commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards and maintaining client confidentiality.
