Job Title: Commercial Lines Operations Manager
Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Lines Manager to oversee and manage our commercial insurance department. The Commercial Lines Manager will be responsible for leading a team of insurance professionals, ensuring the efficient operation of commercial lines policies, and driving growth and profitability within the department.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Supervise and provide leadership to a team of commercial lines, personal lines, claims, and support staff.
Instill processes and procedures
Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Conduct regular team meetings, performance evaluations, and coaching sessions to ensure team members are meeting their goals and objectives.
Policy Management:
Oversee the underwriting process for commercial insurance policies, including risk assessment, pricing, and policy issuance.
Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Review and approve high-risk or complex policy applications.
Relationship Management:
Develop and maintain relationships with key commercial clients, brokers, and agents.
Act as a point of contact for escalated customer inquiries and complaints, resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to identify opportunities for business expansion and client retention.
Performance Analysis:
Analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimize departmental performance.
Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on departmental performance and strategic initiatives.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Stay updated on changes in regulatory requirements and communicate updates to the team.
Implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential losses and ensure sound underwriting practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certifications a plus.
Proven experience (5 years) in commercial lines underwriting or management within the insurance industry.
Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance products, underwriting principles, and risk assessment techniques.
Proficiency in using insurance software and technology platforms.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, colleagues, and industry partners.
