The Commercial Lines Customer Service Representative (CSR) plays a crucial role in providing exceptional service to clients and supporting the overall operations of the commercial insurance department. The CSR acts as a liaison between clients and insurance carriers, assisting with policy inquiries, coverage explanations, and claims support. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial insurance products, excellent communication skills, and a dedication to ensuring client satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Client Interaction:
Serve as the primary point of contact for commercial insurance clients.
Respond to client inquiries, provide policy information, and offer guidance on coverage options.
Address client concerns, resolve issues, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Policy Support:
Assist clients with policy renewals, endorsements, and updates.
Collaborate with insurance underwriters to process policy changes and endorsements.
Review policies for accuracy and completeness, ensuring they meet client needs.
Claims Assistance:
Help clients initiate and navigate the claims process.
Coordinate between clients and claims adjusters to ensure timely resolution of claims.
Provide guidance on documentation requirements and claim procedures.
Coverage Knowledge:
Develop and maintain a strong understanding of various commercial insurance products, including general liability, property, workers' compensation, professional liability, and more.
Educate clients about coverage options and policy details to help them make informed decisions.
Documentation and Data Entry:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in the agency's database.
Handle data entry related to policy changes, endorsements, claims, and other transactions.
Compliance and Regulations:
Stay informed about insurance industry regulations, guidelines, and compliance requirements.
Ensure that all interactions and transactions adhere to legal and regulatory standards.
Collaboration:
Work closely with insurance agents, underwriters, and other team members to provide seamless service to clients.
Communicate effectively within the team to address client needs and solve problems.
Continuous Learning:
Stay updated on industry trends, new insurance products, and market developments.
Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in insurance or related field is a plus.
1-2 years of previous experience as a Customer Service Representative in a commercial insurance setting.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with clients.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Proficiency in using computer software and databases.
Knowledge of commercial insurance products, coverage options, and underwriting processes.
Familiarity with insurance industry regulations and compliance standards.
