Job Description:
As a Commercial HVAC Changeout Technician, you will be responsible for the efficient replacement and commissioning of commercial HVAC systems. This role is crucial in ensuring our clients' buildings have reliable and efficient heating and cooling solutions through the seamless transition from old to new systems.
Responsibilities:
- Safely disconnect and remove old HVAC units and associated components.
- Install new HVAC units, including connecting electrical wiring and refrigerant lines.
- Conduct system tests to ensure proper functioning and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the changeout process.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and provide detailed reports.
- Communicate effectively with building owners or managers on job sites.
- Ensure all work complies with local codes, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Safely drives company vehicle, follows requirements of company vehicle driving policy and adheres to all safety requirements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in HVAC changeout/installation or HVAC service/repair. Commercial experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and changeout procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Proficient in the use of HVAC diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
- Universal EPA certification required; Manufacturer-specific training is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 85 pounds.
- Comfortable working in various environments, including rooftops and confined spaces.
- Capable of standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
