We are a high-quality, multi-generation, family-based, commercial general contractor in the foothills East of Folsom. We are looking to hire a strong project manager for our team. We run a combination of public works as well as private negotiated projects. Our project managers are expected to be knowledgeable about various methods of construction that include ground-up commercial and institutional construction using pre-engineered metal buildings, structural steel superstructures, and conventional wood frame construction.

Qualifications:
- This is not an entry level posistion.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a project manager on public works projects with a bachelor's degree in engineering, project or construction management OR a minimum of 10 years of experience as a project manager on public works projects.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a superintendent on public works project.
- Must have intimate knowledge of computer scheduling programs (MS Project or P6) and advanced scheduling principles.
- Ability to interpret plans, specifications, soils reports, and other documents necessary to complete the work.
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player, humble and kind, attitude.
- Self-accountability. Constant drive to improve.
- References to verify experience are required.
Job Details:
- Management and oversight of one or more construction project contracts.
- Assist with issuing sub-contracts and completing any buy-outs for the project.
- Prepare the overall project schedule and update as needed. Scheduling programs used are P6 and MS Project. No other programs are available for schedule preparation.
- Assist in preparing a project-specific safety plan.
- Review construction plans and specifications and make recommendations to maximize efficiency during construction.
- Ensure construction activities/shutdowns/closures are adequately coordinated and approved prior to commencing.
- Oversee pre-construction meetings during various phases of construction with appropriate sub-contractors.
- Monitor site quality assurance program and project document compliance.
- Examine materials and equipment being incorporated into the work to verify that approved submittals support them, are handled, stored, and installed correctly.
- Manage and review the submission of samples, shop drawings, Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals, and other submittals for contract and code compliance.
- Identify problems encountered in accomplishing the construction work and recommend appropriate action to resolve issues with a minimum effect on the project's timely completion.
- Review progress pay requests for accuracy and recommend approval.
- Hands-on oversight of each project from start-to-finish.

Schedule:
- 8-hour shift (Salary).
- Monday to Friday.
Questions you will be expected to answer:
- Demonstrate the ability to create a simple project schedule from scratch.
- Demonstrate the ability to provide a list of materials required for a task.
Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience as a project manager on public works projects with a bachelor's degree in engineering, project or construction management OR a minimum of 15 years of experience as a project manager on public works projects.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a superintendent on public works project.
Education: Bachelors degree in engineering, project or construction management. (Preferred)
