Commercial Engine Technician- Shop, Power Systems at Altorfer

Provide technical service support to Power Systems customers in a shop environment. This support is in the form of maintaining and troubleshooting power generation equipment and accessories. Ensures quality customer service activities designed to increase customer satisfaction.

• Performs troubleshooting and repair of engine-generators and associated accessory equipment.
• Performs routine maintenance on engine-generators and associated accessory equipment.
• Performs engine-generator overhauls and other major repairs, as needed.
• Assists with removal, transportation, and handling of large pieces of equipment, as needed.
• Handle job planning, securing necessary equipment, and parts ordering for work orders.
• Reports work on time cards and service reports.
• Works with service office to coordinate work and insure customer is satisfied with overall maintenance/repairs.
• Assists service office with repair quotes.
• May perform other related duties as requested and/or assigned.

• Minimum 2 year degree from an accredited Diesel Engine Technology Program or equivalent experience in mechanical/electrical service work.
• PC skills required and experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred. 
• Must have outstanding positive attitude at all times! 
• Good communication skills (verbal and written) and excellent customer service skills necessary.
• Must be able to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions
• Able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 lbs.
• Specific vision abilities needed include: close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions and ability to adjust focus.
• Must be able to have manual dexterity to operate equipment and tools required on the job.
• Must be able to quickly respond (with the hand, finger or foot) to a signal (sound, light, picture) when it appears.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record. This includes no more than 2 minor violations within the past 3 years and no major violations within the past 5 years (Motor Vehicle will be performed on final candidate).

Job will generally be performed at Altorfer service facility. This position requires extensive standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping or kneeling, talking and hearing, and using fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls. May lift up to 75 lbs. Will be required to wear appropriate safety equipment (IE- Safety glasses or side shields, hearing protection, etc.) when needed. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed.
