- The Commercial Construction Project Manager is responsible for oversight and coordination of all construction activities in the construction of commercial buildings. The Project Manager works closely with teams to ensure projects are completed on schedule and on budget while ensuring safety and quality control. The Project Manager will need to be able to handle a wide variety of tasks, such as pre-construction activities, estimating, problem-solving, project financials, cash flow management, and representing the company at meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the development of multi-million dollar commercial construction projects from pre-construction to completion.
- Prepare project budgets, coordinate project scheduling and establish project milestones
- Develop and implement plans for controlling project costs, labor and materials
- Hire contractors and subcontractors for the project
- Monitor and coordinate activities of staff, subcontractors and vendors
- Perform regular site visits to ensure work is being performed in accordance with plans and specifications
- Interface with clients, architects, engineers and other stakeholders related to the project
- Ensure projects are completed on or ahead of schedule and within budget
- Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Ensure projects comply with applicable regulations, codes and standards
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, or a related field
- At least 3+ years of experience in the construction industry, with experience in pre-construction and estimating
- Excellent problem-solving, negotiation and project financials skills
- Ability to manage cash flow and project budgets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and MS Project software
- Knowledge of ProCore software and LEED accreditation is a plus
