Position Overview: The Controller will be responsible for managing the company’s financial operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and providing strategic financial insights to support our business goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction finance, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to lead a finance team effectively.
*RELOCATION TO DALLAS OFFICE*
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure effective internal controls.
- Manage the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Collaborate with project managers and executives to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Coordinate audits and manage relationships with external auditors and financial institutions.
- Lead and develop the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 3 years in a controller or similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, job costing, and financial management.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Procore).
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- High level of integrity and ethical standards.
