Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Relationship Manager to join our team. This role is instrumental in fostering and managing relationships with businesses generating annual revenues between $10MM and $100MM. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong ability to prescreen (preflight) loans and is highly valued if they can handle their own underwriting.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business clients in the lower middle market, identifying new opportunities to grow our commercial loan portfolio.
- Loan Prescreening & Underwriting
- Analyze financial information and assess creditworthiness for C&I loan requests. Perform prescreening (preflight) of potential loans to ensure alignment with credit policies and risk appetite.
- Portfolio Management
- Manage an existing portfolio of commercial clients, ensuring their banking needs are met and risks are appropriately managed.
- Collaboration
- Work closely with internal teams, including credit analysts and underwriters, to ensure timely loan processing and excellent customer service.
- Market Expertise
- Stay informed on market trends and client industries to provide proactive solutions and guidance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in Commercial Relationship Management, preferably within a credit union, bank, or financial institution.
- Strong knowledge of C&I loans and the ability to prescreen loan requests effectively.
- Underwriting skills are a significant plus.
- Familiarity with businesses generating $10MM to $100MM in annual revenues.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a client-focused mindset.
- Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment (in-office on Tuesdays).
