About the Job
Responsible for developing and managing commercial loan relationships; coordinate specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments; report pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; respond to inquiries or requests for information.
Responsibilities:- Develop and manage commercial loan relationships as follows:
- Enlist the support of branch staff and others in the assigned region to meet new business initiatives.
- Interview loan applicants.
- Collect and analyze financial and related data to determine the general creditworthiness of the prospect and the merits of the specific loan request.
- Serve as a primary contact officer on major relationships in assigned region.
- Collect and analyze information that reflects the current creditworthiness of customers; review interim financial reports and personal interview.
- Monitor loan repayment activities.
- Advise customers on business management and financial matters.
- Develop materials for and makes presentations to the Board of Directors as needed.
- Participate in community affairs to increase the Company’s visibility and enhance new business opportunities.
- Serve as a contact officer for non-borrowing accounts and loan customers for matters relating to other Company services for major relationships.
- Act as a proactive sales leader in the assigned region; jointly establish quantitative sales objectives, with assigned supervisor, on an annual basis.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all Company products and services in order to ascertain customer needs and to sell in conjunction with these needs.
- Work as an active member of the Company’s sales/services lending department as follows:
- Jointly establish quantitative sales objectives, with assigned supervisor on an annual basis.
- Solicit new business from present and prospective customers.
- Provide sales information on a timely basis in order that this information may be included as part of monthly and year-to-date sales performance reports.
- Monitor individual sales performance versus objectives on a monthly basis utilizing Company’s sales information system.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all Company commercial credit products and services, in order to ascertain customer needs and to sell in conjunction with these needs.
- Provide direct service to commercial customers with respect to deposit, loan, and other miscellaneous products and services, if applicable, approve or reject loan applications within individual lending authority.
- Assist customers in obtaining specialized services from other departments as necessary.
- Maintain a working knowledge of Company operating policies and procedures which impact commercial services.
- Maintain working knowledge of loan documentation procedures.
- May attend sales and trade meetings as the Company’s representative to develop new business and to gain information and leads on prospective accounts.
- Responsible for early detection, reporting, and monitoring of problem credit.
- Responsible for quality of own loan portfolio.
- Coordinate specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
- Report pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule.
- Coordinate sales and marketing efforts with various referral sources, including Business Development Board members, and branch staff.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; specialized commercial lending education and training.
- A minimum of ten (10) years' experience in related positions.
- Proficient interpersonal relations, communicative, and sales skills.
- A working knowledge of operating and lending policies and procedures which impact client services.
- Thorough understanding of accounting and finance principals and applications.
- General knowledge of business and industry climates and economic conditions.
- General business law knowledge including real estate practices, lien law principals and key elements of the Uniform Commercial Code.
