Zinn Insurance, an Alera Group Company is seeking a Commercial Lines Account Manager to join our Commercial Insurance Service team!

Responsibilities:As a Commercial Lines Account Manager, your primary responsibility is to serve as the day-to-day expert on a mixed book of Commercial Lines business (premium threshold averages less than $25k) and be the primary point of contact for Clients. The Account Manager will assist in preparing and negotiating renewal documents, maintaining client databases, records management, project-specific assignments, and other responsibilities supporting the Client. In this position, successful candidates need to maintain a positive attitude and provide a high level of support in obtaining, maintaining, expanding, and servicing our Commercial Lines Clients.
- To take ownership and responsibility for the client relationship to assure client retention and loyalty. Oversee all aspects of client service to make sure requests are fulfilled accurately, promptly, and professionally.
- Make sure claims are settled quickly and fairly.
- Earn the confidence and respect of the client and their management team to be the first point of contact for clients after the sale.
- Keep the Producers free to focus on attaining new clients for the team. Support the Producers in attaining business.
- Cross Service within the department as needed.
- Grow and develop your insurance knowledge to the highest level possible.
- Make sure client’s risk exposures are identified and insurance solutions are secured and/or recommended through the risk management process.
New Business
- Prepare and market submissions for new business quotes and /or complete in-house rating when applicable.
- Compiling and reconciling carrier proposals making sure coverage was quoted as requested. If not, follow up accordingly.
- Completing proposal and compiling any supporting materials for Client presentation.
- Accompany Producer on Prospect visit as requested to introduce client service team.
- If written, oversee securing apps and documents needed to bind and issue policies. Issue binders, EPI, COI, ID cards, and any documents needed to verify coverage.
- Oversee the execution and fulfillment of any Client Service Plan.
Retention
- Oversee client service activities of assigned accounts including but not limited to:
- Initiate, screen, and prepare endorsement requests for Commercial Lines clients.
- Prepare and process cancellations when required.
- Prepare and process all requests for certificates of insurance as required within 24 hours of the request.
- Review all applications, policies, endorsements, and audits for accuracy.
- Setup and prepare new account files per agency procedures.
- Invoice all premium-bearing transactions.
- Notify producer of any unpaid audits and request appropriate actions be made according to agency collections procedure.
- Prepare account summaries as required.
- Prepare ID cards, evidence of property, certificates, binders, and/or obtain underwriter approval on manuscript endorsements.
- Deliver policies, and related documents to the insured as needed.
- Maintain suspense items promptly.
- Prepare expired policies for filing in dead files.
- Maintain all client activity in the agency automation system.
- Complete annual Account Review of exposures to align and propose coverages accordingly. Service accounts in a manner to eliminate gaps in coverage, thus reducing our E&O exposures.
- Execute the client’s Client Service Plan.
- Assist in the Risk Management and Safety efforts of the client as needed.
- Manage the renewal process to assure fulfillment of the Renewal Process.
- Secure renewal information from the client
- Coordinate the marketing of renewal and securing renewal terms from the current carrier, reconciling proposals to requested specifications.
- Evaluate loss experience and identify how the agency could assist in the mitigating reoccurrence of losses.
- Make sure claims close quickly and fairly.
- Assist in troubleshooting any service or client relations problems.
- Exit conversations with lost clients to determine why we lost business and position the agency for future opportunities to regain lost business.

- 2 years of Commercial Lines Insurance experience is preferred
- Property & Casualty License or must be obtained within 3 months of starting position
- Full knowledge of insurance products and usages. Adequate knowledge of rating procedures, coverages, and industry operations to effectively manage, maintain and underwrite assigned client and prospect lists.
