Office Profile: The Center for Career and Vocation supports the mission of Concordia University Irvine by helping undergraduate students discover their calling and vocation, create a roadmap toward career readiness, and maximize employability.
The role of the CaliforniansForAll Fellowship Coordinator is to recruit and oversee 67 students who will participate in the yearlong fellowship focused on service to the community, building leadership skills, and a deep sense of civic responsibility through service and mentorship. Fellows will engage in service, completing 450 hours over the course of an academic year. In doing so, students can earn up to $10,000 in a scholarship funded by California Volunteers. The position is funded by the grant received by California Volunteers to provide enriching service opportunities and alleviate some of the financial burdens of attending college.
Appointment:
- Recommended by the Director of Career Development and Vocation
- Approved by the Associate Dean of Student Development and the Vice President for Student Affairs, Dean of Students
Staff Relationships:
- Report to the Director of Career Development and Vocation
- Interact and function cooperatively with faculty, staff and external partners
- Supervise students within the fellowship
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to accomplish each of the below duties satisfactorily:
Fellowship Application Coordination (February through May 2022):
- Oversee Fellowship Application committee, applications, and fellowship placement
- Verify that fellows have met all application requirements
- Identify placement sites for fellows
Fellowship Orientation Preparation: (April through August 2022)
- Develop a three-day-long orientation program that prepares fellows to enter their service learning opportunities
- Maintain a fellowship handbook, training program, and resources that support the ongoing development of the fellows
- Collaborate with Residential Services and Bon Appetit for housing and food services for Orientation Site Supervision Coordination:
- Collaborate with local site supervisors to track the progress of fellows' hours
- Make site visits to maintain a good working relationship with site supervisors and fellows
- Meet regularly with fellows to provide support
- Track output metrics and assist fellows in tracking direct and indirect data
- Provide assessment feedback to fellows throughout their program
- Oversee student interns who provide support to the fellows during the academic year
Consortium Partnership
- Serve as the university's key point of contact with representatives from other universities participating in the CFA College Corps consortium
- Manage the student program budget for the College Corps program
- Implement a shared approach to training fellows in best practices for K-12 tutoring
- Participate in Saturday Symposiums and Mid Year Learning Gatherings
- Coordinate transportation to all fellow gatherings that are off-campus
Other Duties:
- Attends regular Student Affairs, Student Success, and 1:1 meetings with Supervisor ● Efficiently able to use Google Suites, Microsoft Office, and Canva

Language Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees and patrons.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
