Position: College and Career Transition Coach

General Job Summary:

This is a full-time, partnership-funded position responsible for providing direct services to students, parents/families, and school staff across two districts and the college to support college preparation and post-secondary success. Campus location to be determined upon hire. Position is contingent upon continued grant funding.

1. Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer for word processing, database information, and the student information system.
2. Represent the College in a positive manner to employees, students, visitors, and the general public.
3. Understanding of the community college mission and a proven dedication to its students.
4. Must be accessible, enthusiastic, and energetic in the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities.
5. Ability to express oneself clearly and effectively in oral and written documentation and work well on a team.
6. Ability to read and understand written and oral instruction or communication.
7. Ability to efficiently perform tasks independently and in an environment of frequent interruptions.
8. Ability to assume responsibility, deal effectively with problems, and exercise good judgment when making decisions.
9. Demonstrated focus on student success.
10. Ability to establish outstanding rapport with students and staff.
11. Must maintain a flexible work schedule.
12. Understanding of the community college mission, and a proven dedication to its students.

Special Demands:

Sedentary to light work. Position involves sitting most of the time; exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally (10-33%). Stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, carrying, and repetitive motion occasionally (10-33%). Walking, lifting, and grasping frequently (34-66%). Talking, hearing, and viewing various types of close visual work constantly (67-100%). Required to travel utilizing personal vehicle.

Employment with Iowa Lakes Community College is dependent upon the successful passage of a criminal background check. Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without Employer Sponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred. Three years’ experience in secondary and/or postsecondary education settings required.

Salary:  Commensurate with education and related experience for a 190-day contract.
