Vaco is working with a well-established company based in Vernon, CA who is seeking a temporary Accounts Receivable/Collections Specialist to join their finance team. This temporary role will assist in managing the accounts receivable and collections process, ensuring the timely collection of outstanding balances and accurate record-keeping.
Position Overview:
The Accounts Receivable/Collections Specialist will be responsible for managing and overseeing the accounts receivable process, including collections, invoicing, and customer communication. This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a focus on resolving payment issues to ensure company cash flow remains healthy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and process customer invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up with customers on overdue payments.
- Initiate collections efforts via phone, email, or mail to resolve outstanding balances.
- Negotiate payment plans or settlements when appropriate.
- Update and maintain customer account records and notes in the accounting system.
- Prepare and send statements to customers as needed.
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies and billing issues.
- Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to ensure smooth resolution of payment disputes.
- Assist in month-end closing by reconciling accounts and providing reports on aging and collections status.
- Process credit memos and refunds when necessary.
- Assist with any ad-hoc tasks related to accounts receivable and collections as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts receivable, collections, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable and collections processes.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Pay: $27-30/hr

- the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
