Yamaha has an exciting opportunity for a Collections Specialist to join our Finance team in Cypress, CA. The Collections Specialist will be responsible for collecting and handling past due accounts, secure collateral and/or cure delinquency. This role will also perform basic skip-tracing with the use of internal and external skip-tracing tools to reduce or prevent losses. Will also assist with insurance claims calls.

$48,207 to $58,150
Yamaha intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related experience. Base pay is part of Yamaha's Total Reward program, our Talent Acquisition Team will share more details as candidates progress.

What you'll be doing:
- Handle inbound and outbound calls for past due accounts, while maintaining composure and professionalism. Collect and negotiate payment arrangements to cure delinquency.
- Interface with servicing vendor to ensure coordination of collections efforts and communication of payments received.
- Assist with right to cure notices, NOI's, deficiency letters and other correspondence.
- Assist with insurance and GAP claims.
- Understand and adhere to company policies and procedures. Comply with all state, federal laws and regulations with regards to appropriate contact/dialogue with consumers.
- Assist back-up for the Recovery, Repossession and Remarketing Administrator.
- Other duties assigned by Management.
What you'll need to be successful:
- Associates degree or equivalent combination of education/experience
- 5 years of experience in collections, skip-tracing in Powersports and/or Auto finance industry preferred
- Strong knowledge of FDCPA, FCRA and multi-State repossession laws
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.)
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills
- Ability to handle difficult conversations, have patience and ability to manage stress
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, meet deadlines with accuracy and adapt quickly to changes in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to act quickly in decision making by using good judgement
- Problem solving skills
