Collections Specialist - Michael & Son Services Inc.

We are looking for a Collection Specialist with 1-2 years of experience to join our team. If you're skilled at managing accounts, negotiating payments, and problem-solving, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

• Monitor the firm's accounts receivable and identify overdue accounts.
• Contact customers with overdue accounts and attempt to either collect the overdue amount or negotiate a payment plan to collect it in installments
• Maintain records of contacts and attempted contacts with delinquent account customers as well as records of any payments collected from the customers
• Resolve customer issues and complaints concerning billing.
• Submit regular reports on the status of unpaid accounts and any repayment progress.
• Working closely with the Collections Manager to discuss accounts that are not successfully resolved
• Heavy inbound/outbound calls, emails and communication
• Handling unordinary circumstances at the requests of the manager and/or Controller
• Working w/ our leasing office to de-escalate any issues that arise

Basic Requirements

• Clear verbal communication and the ability to speak clearly and professionally with customers.
• 1-2 years of experience in collections, customer service, or related fields.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple accounts.
• Ability to work independently and meet performance targets.
• Good listening and communication skills
• Familiar with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and other laws governing debt collection practices
• Problem-solving, negotiating and critical thinking skills
