Job Title: Collections/Risk Associate
Location: Southbury, CT (Hybrid work schedule)
Department: Collections
Reports To: Director of Risk Management
Job Overview:
The primary responsibilities of a Collections/Risk Associate are the collections of delinquent accounts. Associates contact delinquent and high-risk customers to secure payments and determine the reason for delinquency. Other primary duties include loss mitigation and recovery activities on defaulted accounts.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Management Team
1. Report daily to and assist the Director of Risk Management in the day-to-day operations of the department.
Collection of Delinquent Accounts
1. Provide efficient and timely recovery on delinquent accounts in a courteous and professional manger
2. Call or email delinquent accounts as directed and scheduled
a. Communicate properly the terms and conditions of the lease to PFS customers
b. Fully document all correspondence and actions in database notes
3. Process Cash Receipts and Delinquency Reports from banks
4. Monitor 1st payment defaults and insufficient funds (returned payments) received from banks
5. Work effectively with PFS servicing banks’ collections personnel
6. Single Lease non-recurring ACH Payments (Pay-by-Phones)
7. Recurring ACH set-up (to include Third Party docs when needed)
8. Bounced Payments
9. Submit Monthly Collections Report
10. Skip Trace to find person, car, etc.
11. Collecting on Property Tax accounts
12. Collecting on Extension Payments
13. Adding a Guarantor to lease
14. Account Terminations
a. Send termination letters, submit repossession orders, conduct weekly follow-ups, and continue to investigate as directed by the manager
Collectible Debt
1. Work directly with Director of Risk Management in maintaining the status of the Collectible Debt files
2. As directed, prepare Collectible Debt Packages for PFS Legal Counsel
3. Skip trace to find assets, employment, etc.
4. Conduct daily/weekly follow up
5. As directed, contact attorneys, repo agents, and private investigators
Client Services Support
1. Process payoff requests as needed
2. Assist with lease management as needed
a. Lease Extensions and Lease Expirations
3. Third Party Insurance Investigations as needed
Administrative Support
1. Submit Monthly Report
2. Review, edit and complete Collections Manual as directed and scheduled by manager
3. Update and revise checklists and keep current
4. Contribute to the team effort of Premier and the Collections Department
5. Process weekly delinquency reports and daily payments received at servicing bank
6. Attend Weekly Collections Meeting
7. Review, edit and complete Procedures Manual and checklists as directed
8. Pull Credit Reports, TLO, Pacer Reports, E-Oscar Reports, and process E-Oscar Disputes as directed
9. Assist Annual OFAC Audit with Manager(s)
10. Attend one Regional Team Meeting per week
11. Review and resolve problem accounts, i.e., Skip/Trace, Insurance, Straw Lease, etc. as directed

Education and Experience:
- Associates degree required; BS/BA in Business Administration, Risk Management, or related area preferred
- At least two years of related experience required
