Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and results-driven individual to join our team as a Collections Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for actively contacting customers and ensuring the timely collection of outstanding payments. As a key contributor to our revenue collection efforts, you will work in the Collections Department to achieve departmental goals and maintain positive customer relationships.
Essential Duties
Proactively contact customers to collect outstanding payments in a timely manner.
Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, empathy, and customer service while effectively addressing customer inquiries and concerns.
Resolve payment disputes and negotiate payment arrangements in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Update customer account information and payment statuses accurately.
Utilize a variety of communication channels, including phone calls and emails, to facilitate successful collections efforts.
Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all collection's activities, ensuring proper documentation for reference and reporting purposes.
Collaborate with the Collections Department to develop and implement effective collections strategies.
Meet or exceed assigned collection targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Qualifications
Previous experience in collections or a similar role, with a proven track record of meeting collection targets
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Ability to handle challenging customer interactions with tact and professionalism
Proficiency in using computer programs and software for collections management
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in recording collections activities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Familiarity with collections regulations and best practices is a plus
