About the Job
Summary Objective
Under general supervision, manages, coordinates, plans, and supervises the operation and construction of the City's utility wastewater collection systems. Overall responsibility for planning and supervising the construction, repair, operation, and maintenance of piping, pumping, and utility assets; electrical, mechanical, electronic, and SCADA systems. Electromechanical components and equipment associated with sanitary lift stations; piping and appurtenances associated with wastewater collection systems.; and other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in business administration, civil, mechanical, or environmental engineering (Education will be verified) and six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in the operations and maintenance of wastewater collections, water distribution, or related field is required.
Two years of supervisory experience is required. A valid State of Florida driver's license is required.
Florida Water and Pollution Control Operators (FWPCOA) Wastewater Collection System Operator "B" certification is required. FWPCOA Wastewater Collection System Operator "A" certification, Florida Department of Environmental Protection Water Distribution Class "B" license, and backflow tester certification are highly desirable.
Alternate Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED and eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in the operations and maintenance of wastewater collections, water distribution, or related fields is required.
Two years of supervisory experience is required. A valid State of Florida driver's license is required.
