Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Coal Mining Electrical Engineer to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing electrical systems, ensuring projects meet industry standards and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

:

Design, develop, and implement electrical systems for various projects.

Review project drawings and make necessary corrections.

Report drawing corrections and issues to the Engineering Manager and/or President.

Perform specific duties internally.

Ensure designs lead to safe, profitable installations that meet customer requirements and schedules.

Analyze and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and specifications.

Perform calculations for power distribution, load analysis, and system efficiency.

Oversee installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.

Collaborate with project managers, technicians, and clients to ensure timely project completion.

Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with local and national electrical codes and standards.

Provide technical support and troubleshoot system issues as needed.

Stay updated with advancements in electrical engineering technology and industry best practices.

Primary Responsibilities

Design and Development

: Create electrical systems for industrial, commercial, and custom projects.

Design control panels, wiring layouts, and electrical schematics.

Use software like AutoCAD Electrical to develop system designs.

Systems Integration

: Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and other automation systems.

Ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into broader automation frameworks.

Project Oversight

: Manage electrical projects from concept to completion.

Collaborate with customers, technicians, and subcontractors to ensure designs meet specifications.

Conduct site visits to supervise installations and troubleshoot issues.

Compliance and Safety

: Ensure designs and installations adhere to local, national, and international electrical codes (e.g., NEC).

Conduct risk assessments to maintain safety and operational standards.

Testing and Maintenance

: Test electrical systems and ensure functionality and efficiency.

Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and automation system failures.

Perform preventative maintenance and recommend upgrades for efficiency.

Collaboration

: Work closely with the engineering team, project managers, and clients to deliver tailored solutions.

Provide technical guidance to other staff and stakeholders.

Innovation

: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to implement innovative solutions.

Qualifications

:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

Experience in electrical design

Valid driver’s license.

Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, MATLAB, or similar tools.

Strong understanding of electrical codes (e.g., NEC, IEC).

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
