CNC Swiss Setup and Operator/Machinist

DESCRIPTION: CNC Setup and Operator/Machinist will work with the Design Team to prototype creative, high-quality surgical tools and implants and fabricate test and measurement jigs and fixtures. As the machine operator, the successful candidate will be a highly-skilled professional with excellent attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.

The employee will autonomously set up and operate CNC machining equipment, set up machine tools, fixture workpieces, operate machines, and measure work results to ensure it is within specified dimensions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Set up, operate CNC and conventional machine tools used for high precision milling, turning, and grinding operations of stainless steel, titanium, super-alloy, and various plastic materials.
2. Use precision measuring equipment to verify machined parts meet specified dimensional requirements and tolerances.
3. Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces
4. Work with the engineers and programmers to assure manufacturability of orthopedic surgical instruments, implants, and test fixture designs.
5. Provides necessary machining and metalworking mentorship to less skilled employees.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 5+ years experience as machinist of precision components
• 2+ years experience with Citizen and Star screw machines.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience using precise measuring equipment to verify parts are within tolerance.
• Basic computer skills including e-mail and internet usage
