CNC Swiss Lathe - Mill Turn Engineer

Very successful manufacturing company located in Bergen County is currently seeking a CNC Applications Mill Turn Engineer

BASIC FUNCTION

Under broad oversight and in compliance with Company policies and procedures, responsible for creating CNC programs for Swiss and Mill turn machines – Citizen Brand experience required, L20, M16, M32, Miyano etc.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Identifies and implements innovative solutions for material removal, utilizing CAM software, Partmaker required.
2. Provides technical support for quality controls, process improvements, cost savings, process development projects, etc.
3. Provides support for the development of manufacturing processes on various style Citizen Machines. Develops machining solutions for various materials (superalloys, medical grade steels, etc.).
4. Leads projects and initiates/receives business or project-related communications - with vendors, integrators and internal stakeholders concerning parts, processes, equipment, tooling, fixtures, and gauges.
5. Ability to run first article jobs through the Citizen equipment, while making required changes to gain first article approval to run production. Experience with standard shop floor metrology equipment.
6. Evaluates current legacy parts/programs and manufacturing processes for Continuous improvement to existing parts/processes.
7. Creates tool setup sheets for operators/machinists for use on the shop floor.
8. Provides input and shares machine tooling data with internal groups/teams in an effort to develop robust machining processes.
9. Acts as a steward of the Phillips Precision brand, consistently representing and reflecting the Company’s core values, approach, and high standards of excellence in all internal and external interactions.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:

Experience and Expertise:

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on manufacturing process experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred, or equivalent related work experience.
• Experience with conventional and CNC machining processes; such as milling and turning.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, Partmaker required.
• Experience in identifying tooling, along with the appropriate operating conditions (speeds and feeds).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; along with excellent problem solving skills
• Demonstrated time management, analytical, detail-oriented, deductive reasoning and problem solving skills.
