Our company is seeking a passionate CNC Programmer/Machinist to join our dynamic engineering team. This is a permanent, full-time position where the successful candidate will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills within the engineering industry. The CNC Programmer/Machinist will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC Mill/Turn Lathes. This role requires a deep understanding of the production process and a keen eye for detail. The ideal candidate will have a background in engineering and a thorough knowledge of machining.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and write precise CNC programs to control machining or processing of parts by automatic machine tools, equipment, or systems.
2. Perform complex programming activities, including designing and debugging.
3. Set up, operate and maintain CNC equipment to perform various machine functions such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, boring, and broaching of metallic and nonmetallic workpieces.
4. Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications, making adjustments as necessary.
5. Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
6. Review electronic or written blueprints or specifications for a job.
7. Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to customer specifications.
8. Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
9. Collaborate with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures and resolve system malfunctions.
10. Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CNC Programmer and/or Machinist.
2. Extensive knowledge of the operating characteristics of various CNC machines and tools, and the ability to program and set them up.
3. Familiarity with the properties of various materials used in manufacturing.
4. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
5. Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and design models.
6. Knowledge of safety measures pertinent to each job assignment.
7. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
