- Job Description Summary
The Lead CNC Programmer is responsible for Planning and scheduling and leads others to produce technical work with required acceptance criteria. Also manages the weekly/Monthly status calls with Client Technical lead engineer.
Ensures application of best practices and identifies the need for enhanced processes, methods, and tools.
Responsible for reviewing the quality of deliverables and conducting peer reviews.
Build of program machine operations (MO) in CAM tool using supplied NC Plan for drive gears, drive cases and rotor metallic components using all necessary process plan references and Company standards
Build of work instructions for machine operator management and execution of machine processes
Program Validation using Vericut Simulation/Verification Tools
Interrogate, analyze, comprehend, and interpret various Engineering Drawings, Models, Bills of Materials, Technical Specifications, Quality Documents, and departmental procedures as necessary to perform assigned work.

Interrogate, analyze, comprehend, and interpret various Engineering Drawings, Models, Bills of Materials, Technical Specifications, Quality Documents, and departmental procedures as necessary to perform assigned work.
Collaborate with process engineers and production teams to define the most efficient machining processes, selecting the appropriate tools, feeds, speeds, and machining strategies.
Optimizing the tool paths and cutting strategies to reduce tool wear, improve part quality, and extend tool life.
Ensure that the NC program will result in parts that meet strict aerospace tolerances and quality standards.
Work closely with design engineers to understand part geometries, tolerances, and special requirements.
Design developing solutions to technical problems as specified in the scope.
Provide process liaison support for manufacturing operations when MCAD models
with 2D drawings exist as required.
Develops, Creates and Maintains Tooling/Fixture definition for manufacturing
operations for all media types including MCAD and manual legacy designs.
Working knowledge of Tooling, Manufacturing and Planning processes and procedures Skilled in the concept related to the application of GD&T/Aerospace tolerances.
Supports producibility assessments when requested
Maintains records and schedules of work assigned.
Will meet established company cost control standards, schedule and quality requirements to maintain market
Execute strong communication skills, both verbal and written, required to
communicate and interact between internal and external customers.
Apply extensive aircraft manufacturing knowledge and be prepared to train, direct,
instruct, mentor and check/validate Production Engineering work.
Required to attend training and complete competency-based testing as required by
management to remain current with technological advancements.
Qualifications:
10+ years Aerospace CNC Programming experience is required
Four (4) years college with degree in engineering
Experience with CAD and/or CAM (CATIA is preferred)
Experience in Vericut Simulation/Verification Tools
Due to the ITAR requirements, only US Persons projects.
